Get confident with bowel cancer screening at ‘The Loo Post’

Bowel cancer is Australia’s second biggest killer, but it’s also one of the most treatable cancers if found early. However, currently, only 41.7% of Australians do their bowel screening test.

The Loo Post is a walk-through experience that takes you through the steps: from your screening kit so you can head home feeling confident that you can do your test the moment it arrives at your doorstep.test

Grab a cuppa at the 'Catch It Early Cafe'

We’ve partnered with local cafes to host the Catch It Early Café. We will be offering free coffee in a relaxed setting and chatting about screening for bowel cancer, so you can ask questions over your favourite brew.

The Catch It Early Café reminds people aged 45 to 74 that regular bowel cancer screening could save your life.

Screening every two years can help find bowel cancer early when 90% of cases can be successfully treated.

So, drop by for a cuppa and a chat, then carry on with your day more informed and with all the reassurance you need to register for a kit or to do your test at home.

Let’s talk bowel cancer screening: Practical guides for frontline workers

We acknowledge the influence frontline workers and community members have in sharing information and encouraging people to take action. For this reason, we have created two useful videos:

  • The Loo Post: For frontline workers to learn more about the free National Bowel Cancer Screening Program so they can share the information with their team and peers.
  • The Catch it Early Cafe Video: is specifically created for community and religious leaders as well as sports administrators and provides a simple explanation of the bowel screening process and the importance of early detection to protect lives.

These two short videos show you how to start simple, respectful, and confident conversations around bowel cancer screening. Watch and download these practical tools to inspire action and protect the health of your community.
